Stitched with Care
This Friday, March 20, the Art Club gathered for the second session of Handicraft with Love, and the results were truly inspiring.
Pouch to carry passport by Karen
Each participant brought a unique intention to their creation. Karen is designing a delicate pouch to carry her passport, blending functionality with personal style.
Crossbody mini pouch by Jade
Jade is crafting a soft, thoughtful piece for her mother, something gentle and comforting, designed with her needs in mind. It can also be worn as a crossbody mini pouch, combining practicality with affection.
Jane explored a more artistic direction, incorporating leftover fabrics from her own textile work. Her approach transformed remnants into expressive, one of a kind compositions, giving new life to materials rich with story and texture.
Eugênia, our guiding maestra, demonstrated her mastery throughout the session, generously sharing her sewing expertise. She taught techniques such as the French knot and intricate embroidery, elevating everyone’s work with refined craftsmanship.
Karen enriched her piece with embroidered details, incorporating beads and sequins that added depth and a subtle sense of brilliance.
Meanwhile, Janice continued her meticulous restoration work. After reviving a vintage Cartier box in the previous session, she turned her attention to a Christian Dior glasses case, showcasing her remarkable ability to restore and reimagine timeless objects.
The atmosphere was one of creativity, care, and shared learning, where each stitch carried intention and every piece told a story.
