Art in Confinement

The Art + Design & Craft Club had its first workshop in 2019 at the IDB Family Association headquarters in Bethesda. Since then, the Club has met every Wednesday to learn and share art knowledge and techniques. During the 2020 quarantine/self-isolation period the art workshops went virtual. Teresa Rozkiewicz, one of the club members, introduced the collage technique to make use of readily available materials from home. As a result, the artists were able to channel their emotions during this difficult time and create unique and colorful pieces.

The “Art in Confinement” exhibition consists of 30 collage pieces created by five artists with materials they had at home during the quarantine/self-isolation period from April to June 2020. The materials used for the pieces range from magazines to scrap paper to acrylic paint. This is the first ever exhibition presented by the Art + Design & Craft Club and curated by Teresa.
