Hilde-Gardens

Wanjin Kim, our guest art teacher of the month, taught us in March 3rd how to draw a face with proper proportions as part of our weekly workshop on byzantine art.

With a picture of the Saint as inspiration, we started our drawings. The results were astonishing, considering that most of us don’t have experience doing portraits and don’t forget that we are doing this online!!!!!!

In this exhibition you will appreciate a variety of portraits of Saint Hildegard, with mixed media materials, framings and a wide variety of backgrounds; we even have one sewn on fabric!

You will also find a variety of flowers, representing her garden.  Each work highlights the different personalities of the participants, from very delicate watercolors to vibrant acrylic paintings, showing our different styles and mediums.

Included are several mandalas since Saint Hildegard drew them to express many of her visions. In this exhibition we have examples of a variety of design, mixed media, and colorful mandalas.

The artists’ artwork results are beautiful, each with a unique accent, inspiration and feeling.
