Drawing as Observation

On January 30th the Art Club came together for a drawing workshop with our fellow member, the muralist Julio Navone, also know as Lulo.

More than a technical class, an activity which remind us that art asks us to slow down.

Drawing, as Lulo shared, is not only about skill, but about attention. About training the eye, balancing emotion and reason, and learning to observe before acting.

Despite the bitterly cold weather, twelve brave members put on some winter clothes and gathered, filling the space with warmth and focus.

The artists of the day.

This gathering was also marked by a farewell moment for Ana Britto, one of the founders of the Art Club, whose vision, calm and kindness helped shape this space eight years ago.

At the same time, we welcomed Fabíola and her daughter Michelle, newly arrived from Mexico, reminding us that our community is always in motion.

We learn to say goodbye, to say welcome, and to remain connected through the love for art.

Next Friday February 6th, we will continue with Lulo as we move into acrylic!
