The Patterns That Shape Us

Instructor 👩🏻‍🏫: Martina Sestakova

Technique: Watercolor and Creative Expression

Inspired by Australian Indigenous artworks featured at the National Gallery of Art, this workshop explores how repetition and abstraction can hold memory, place, and meaning.

Through group discussion and a meditative writing exercise, participants will identify patterns from their own lives and create abstract compositions that express personal stories. We will work with watercolors and colored pencils.

No prior experience is required—everyone is welcome, regardless of skill level. All materials will be provided.

  • Instructor: Art educator Martina Sestakova

  • Capacity: 12–14 participants

  • Duration: Two hours
